It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Terry Jean Land, a cherished soul who left this world on September 27, 2026, at the age of 71 after a courageous and determined battle with breast cancer. Terry was born on December 15, 1954, in Kansas City, Missouri, to Geraldine Busenhart and Perry Giplin, both of whom preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her beloved sisters, DeDe Braswell and Marsha Pelham, and her aunt, Bobbie Busenhart. Terry's life was a testament to kindness, intelligence, and love. These qualities defined her interactions with everyone fortunate enough to know her. Her warmth and generosity left an indelible mark on her family and friends. Her legacy will forever continue to inspire those she touched. 

Terry was a strong woman, not only in everyday life but also in her faith; she carried her devoted faith with her throughout life and her personal belief in working hard and persevering to achieve your goals. She found immense joy in cooking meals and spending time with family. She loved playing board games with her family and friends. She was a notorious cheater, changing her dice while no one was looking, and while she may not have always played by the rules, she certainly knew how to make everyone laugh. She enjoyed watching reality television, getting wrapped up in everyone's stories and personalities. She could always find comfort and companionship in a good, captivating book. Her caring heart, sense of humor, faith, and the warmth she brought into others' lives will be deeply missed. The memories of her love, her laughter, and even her mischievous ways will remain in the hearts of those blessed to have known her.

Terry shared a beautiful 20-year marriage with her devoted husband, Ellic Land Jr. Their bond was a source of strength and joy; together, they created a nurturing and loving home. She is survived by her daughters, Rebecca Milstead, Tiffani Nunez, and Kristina Hicks. She is also survived by her son, Shawn Willey, who carries forward her spirit of compassion and love. Terry was a beloved sister to Vanessa Gilpin-Laxon and Vola Bahl, and a proud grandmother to Britainy Reneau, Chelsea Atkinson and her husband Shane Atkinson, Sierra Voyles, Rachelle Ibanez, Adrian Ibanez, Janys Nunez, Kayla Nunez, and Vivian Hicks. Her great-grandchildren, Peyton Reneau, Raidyn Loposser, Daniella Ibanez, and Jayden Torres-Land, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and friends, will forever cherish her memory.

Mrs. Terry's family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to the ICU staff and doctors for their compassionate care and support during her final days. Your kindness will never be forgotten.

As we bid farewell to Terry Jean Land, we hold her close in our hearts, forever grateful for the time we shared with a remarkable woman. May she rest in peace, knowing she was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed. The Land family asks that in lieu of flowers, family and friends donate to a breast cancer charity of their choosing.
