Thelma’s journey of more than ninety-one years was marked by love, strength, and a devotion that left an indelible mark on all who were fortunate enough to know her.

With deep sorrow, the family announces the peaceful passing of Thelma Louise Dixon ( Rowe) on July 27, 2026, in Pascagoula, Mississippi. Born December 3, 1934, in Irvington, Virginia, Thelma’s journey of more than ninety-one years was marked by love, strength, and a devotion that left an indelible mark on all who were fortunate enough to know her.

Thelma’s roots were grounded in the warmth and care of her parents, Frank Rowe and Lela Gould Rowe, and she carried forward their spirit throughout her life. She remained forever proud of her heritage and maintained bonds with her siblings, cherishing dearly the memories of Francis, Wallace, and Harry Rowe, who preceded her in passing, as well as her surviving brother, Lawrence Rowe.

Her marriage to Frank L. Dixon Sr. was a union of hearts and minds a true partnership grounded in mutual respect and affection for over 73 years of marriage. Together, they wove a family tapestry rich with laughter, guidance, and resilience, enduring joys and hardships that only strengthened their legacy. Though Frank passed before her, his memory was a constant companion to Thelma, a wellspring of comfort.

As a mother, Thelma poured unconditional love, encouragement, and wisdom into the lives of her children. She is mourned by her surviving sons, each carries forward her gentle kindness and unwavering generosity which is a testament to the impact she had on the family she raised.

Dixon and Robin S. Dixon, and daughter-in-law Donna S. Dixon, whose memories she treasured tenderly. The bonds of family meant everything to Thelma, and each loss was mourned deeply, each memory cherished.

The outpouring of love and support in this time reflects the generosity of spirit that defined Thelma’s life.

A woman of quiet dignity, steadfast faith, and grace, Thelma gave of herself unreservedly to her community and her family. She inspired those around her to embody compassion, patience, and integrity, and these qualities live on in every life she graced. Through the joys of family celebrations and the trials of loss, Thelma’s love was an anchor constant, faithful, and true.
