Thomas Michael "Mike" Mathieu, 72, of Hurley, Mississippi passed away Sunday, January 22nd at 08:02 pm. Mike was born September 26th, 1950, to Wilma Brown Mathieu and Donald L. Mathieu in Jackson, MS. The family settled in Pascagoula where he attended school graduating from Pascagoula High in 1968. Mike became a Machinist completing the apprentice program at Ingalls Ship Building. He worked for Williams Machine Works before moving to Florida to work for Florida Power & Light retiring in 2016. He enjoyed fishing, boating, coaching softball, and NASCAR.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Donald L. and Wilma Brown Mathieu, his brother, Robert "Bobby" Mathieu, his sister, Deborah Lynn Mathieu Stringfellow, paternal Grandparents Eugene and Gladys Mathieu and maternal Grandparents, Carl and Ruth Brown, Michael W Horton, as well as numerous Aunts, Uncles, and cousins. His pain has passed, and he will be joining many loving hearts waiting for him.
He is survived by his wife, Linda F. Mathieu, brother and sister-in-law, Donald E. and Anita Mathieu of West Palm Beach FL, sister, Judy Mathieu Noble of Pensacola FL, sister-in-law Sheryl Mathieu of Vancleave MS, Uncle and Aunt Carl Richard and Billie Brown of Helena MT.
Children are Cindy Mathieu (Cory) Walley of Leakesville MS, Tammy Mathieu (Nick) Morrison of Hurley MS, Anthony Dewayne (Heather) Mathieu Sr of Hurley MS, and Tammy Michelle Horton of San Francisco CA.
Grand Children are Kansas Green, Kenny Green, Allie Walley, Victoria Walley Moss, Olivia Walley Smith, Anthony Mathieu Jr, Madison Mathieu, Brantley Mathieu, and Lillian Morrison.
Great Grand Children are Kaysen B, Avery Grace, Gabby Brooks, and Anniston Kory
Mike is also survived by numerous other cousins, nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
Visitation will be Saturday, February 4th from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at Holder-Wells Funeral Home in Moss Point, MS. Funeral services will follow at 12:00 p.m. from the funeral home Chapel with Rev. Art Trehern officiating. Interment will be at Machpelah Cemetery in Pascagoula.
