Thomas Gene Whitehurst, 76 of Moss Point, passed from this life on Wednesday, November 11, 2015 in Biloxi. He was born November 3, 1939 in Mobile, Alabama. Mr. Whitehurst was a 1958 graduate of Theodore High School. He served four years in Germany with the United States Army and was a businessman in Jackson County, Mississippi for many years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Gertrude Sumerlin Whitehurst; sisters, Dorothy Harkins, Floyce Christine Whitehurst; and brother, Floyd Harold Whitehurst and wife Ida. Survivors include his three children, David Whitehurst, Bobby Whitehurst and Carey Whitehurst; brothers, Gerald Freeman Whitehurst of Dallas, Texas, Emory Donald Whitehurst and wife Darlene of Mobile, Alabama; grandchildren, Morgan Taylor Whitehurst, Angelika Jana Whitehurst; and numerous nieces; nephews; other relatives and many friends. A celebration of Mr. Whitehurst's life will be held on Tuesday, November 17, 2015 from 4:00 until 7:00PM at the Serenity Funeral Home Event Center, 8691 Old Pascagoula Rd, Theodore, AL 36582.
