Velma Louise (Jones) Stutts, age 86, formerly of Hurley went home to be with Jesus on Sunday, July 11, 2021. Velma was a mother to all, and she never met a stranger. She will be missed dearly by all who knew her. Velma was preceded in death by her parents James & Mary Jones, brother Cleo Jones (Anita, Lisa, Timothy), sister Nell King (Angie, Dale, Mark, Mitchell), sister Judy Ward (Robert), husband Lloyd Brown Sr., husband Jim Stutts, and son Lloyd Brown Jr. She is survived by her son Martis Laton and wife Donna (Mitchell, Kevin, Martis, Babet, Eddie); daughter Vicky Reed and husband Jimmie (Heather, Cody, Joseph, Michael, Jude, Muriel, Hannah); son Michael Brown and wife Samantha (Camryn, Joshua, Kaitlyn); son Benny Brown and wife Cassandra (Brian, Jade); DIL Theresa Brown (Logan, Mason); step daughter Angie Griffin (Kelsey); stepson Donnie Stutts (Tyler); stepdaughter Cheryl Clark (Joey, Linda); brother Leo Jones (Debbie); numerous neices, nephews and great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Thursday, July 15, 2021 from 10:00-11:00 am at the Holder-Wells Funeral Home in Moss Point with funeral service beginning at 11:00 am from the funeral home chapel. Rev. Ransom Gilbert will be officiating. Burial will follow in Machpelah cemetery. The family would like to thank the staff at the We Care Hospice center for their care of Velma in her final days.
