Velma Jean Hyatt Martin, 75, of Lucedale, MS passed from this life on Sunday, September 26, 2021. She was born to John and Monteal Hyatt in Escatawpa at her grandparents' home on February 25, 1946.

She was a longtime resident of Pascagoula with her husband of 48 years before his passing. She was homemaker and an avid fisherwoman. She loved to fish, shrimp, and oyster. She also loved to cook and she was good at it. She enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchild.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Roy A. Martin, Jr. and brother Horace McLeod.
She is survived by her children Cynthia "Cindy" Martin, Laura Martin, Christy (Scott) Platt, and LeRoy (Brandi) Martin and sisters Bonnie Bowman, Alberta Mizell, and brother Buddy McLeod. She will also be sadly missed by her grandchildren Erika (Josh) Hiatt, Madeline Swift, LeRoy Martin Jr, Caroline Mattox, Makayla Stokes, and great granddaughter Brooklyn Mattox, and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Visitation will be Thursday September 30, 2021 at 10:00am at Holder-Wells Coastal Funeral Home at 12800 Highway 613, Moss Point, MS 39562. Service will follow at 11:00.
