Mrs. Vernell Mathieu's Obituary
Vernell Mathieu (Jarvis), 98, passed away on September 5 of natural causes.
Vernell was born September 3, 1926 in Mendenhall, MS. Although she spent the majority of her life in MS, she also lived in AZ and just recently Charlotte, NC.
She was preceded in death by her son Robert Jarvis (Peewee).
Vernell is survived by a sister Hazel DeLarge, her son Frank Jarvis, daughter Carolyn Cutler (Jarvis), and granddaughters Katie Harrison and Loren Ceurvels and two great-grandchildren, Hunter and Ryder Harrison.
Vernell left high school her junior year to work as a welder at Ingalls shipyard as a Rosie Riveter, then worked at BVD factory. She had always wanted to be a nurse and in her late 40s, took the GRE and went to MS Gulf Coast Community College where she attained her License Practical Nurse (LPN). She worked at Singing River Hospital until her retirement.
Vernell was a sweet, loving mother and grandmother who had an amazingly full life.
