Virginia Lee Fulton passed away peacefully on February 24, 2023, at her home in Moss Point. She lived a gracious and purposeful life here on earth and has now gone to spend eternity with Jesus, her Lord, and Savior. She was 90 years of age at the time of her passing.
She was born Virginia Lee Soles on May 11, 1932, to Lula Elnora Pettie and James Calvin Soles of Andalusia, Alabama. They later moved to the Mississippi Gulf Coast where she graduated from Pascagoula High School in 1950. Shortly after graduation, Virginia married William Edward Fulton and moved to Moss Point where they raised three daughters. She retired from the City of Moss Point, where she worked for more than 25 years in the Tax Department. She was also a lifelong member of East Moss Point Baptist Church.
Virginia is preceded in death by her parents, and her brother Jimmy Soles of Mobile, Alabama. She is survived by her sister Karen Jackson, and her three daughters Leann Fulton, Renee Fulton Cumbie (Mike), and Susan Fulton Moeller (Jimmy). She is also survived by her grandchildren Lori Bailey (Mitch), Lindsey Lofton, Lacey Lofton, William Brian Fulton, Beth Hunt (Brian), Monique Cooper, Amanda Sonnier (Jody), Jessica Creel (Eric), and Samantha Gallien (Alex), along with thirteen great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, and so many others that loved her.
Virginia was a loving mother, and she was known to her grandchildren as "Mimi". She always enjoyed seeing and spending time with them and bragging about how special they are. She was also a faithful friend to many neighbors, co-workers, and her church family. Virginia will be remembered for her faith, her love for others, and her dedication to her church. She will be missed by many.
A service will be held at East Moss Point Baptist Church on February 27th at 2 PM in her memory.
