It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Wayne "Curtis" Redmond Jr. on February 18, 2026. Curtis was preceded in death by his beloved father, Wayne C. Redmond Sr.; his cherished sister, Deanna Redmond; his maternal grandparents, Mae West and David Lee West Sr.; and his paternal grandparents, Curtis and Thelma Redmond.
Curtis's memory will be lovingly carried forward by his devoted mother, Dorothy Redmond, his wife, Chandi Redmond, and his son, Troy Redmond, who were the center of his world. He is also survived by his aunts, Juanita Saucier and Johnnie (Warren) Fountain, his cousin Jeffrey Nicholson, as well as a large extended family and his two lifelong friends, Daniel Meyn and Creig "Tammy" Kirkland, whose companionship enriched his journey.
Curtis found joy in the simple pleasures of life, whether casting a line while fishing, cheering on his favorite football team, or spending time behind the wheel of a dump truck and on heavy equipment. The river was a place of freedom for him, where he was delighted in running his boat up and down its winding path. Those who knew Curtis will remember his adventurous spirit and the laughter he brought to every gathering. To honor his memory, pallbearers will include Jeffrey Nicholson, Tony Patteson, Denny Paulk, Michael Kirkland, Ronald Stokes, Rusty Mallette, and Dan Dillard. Honorary pallbearers are Glenn Fountain and Michael Fountain.
Funeral services will be held in the Chapel of Holder Wells and Coastal Funeral Home, 12800 Highway 613, Moss Point, MS 39562, on Tuesday, February 24, 2026. A visitation will take place at 1:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 2:00 PM, with Pastor Eugene Eubanks officiating with burial at Serene Memorial Gardens.
