William Cecil "Billy" Cunningham Jr., of Pascagoula, MS passed away peacefully from this life on December 6,2022 in Saraland, AL at the age of 58.
Billy went to Baker High School in Grand Bay, AL. To know Billy was to love Billy. Billy's first love was Jesus Christ and then his family. Billy preached his first sermon in his early life at the age of 16.
Billy worked as a deputy reserve officer for the Jackson County Sheriff's Department for 10 years. He worked for Ingalls Shipbuilding for 20 years. His joy and passion were being an umpire for baseball in the area for 30 years and a football referee for the local high schools for 30 years. He was member of the MS High School Association of Sports that included football, fast pitch softball, baseball, ASA softball, USSSA baseball, ASA fast pitch, Babe Ruth League, and Cal Ripkin baseball leagues. Billy received many rewards for his hard work and dedication.
His home church was the Pentecostal's of Helena and Rev. Timothy Mains was his pastor.
Billy leaves behind his loving wife of 40 years Anita Stuart Cunningham, his 2 sons William Chad (Reyna) Cunningham and
Justin Lee (Bryanna) Cunningham, his 1 "adopted son by love" Nicholas Hill. He also leaves behind 4 grandchildren Neveah Waller, Landen Cunningham, Addison "Addie Grace" Cunningham, Noah Rhey Kujawh and his "adopted grandchildren by love" Josieyah Manning, Knautica Manning, Keighdynee Manning, Jyudaah Manning, Kwendolyn Write and Gyddeon Kujawa. His 2 brothers Morris (Roxanne) Cunningham and Bradley Eugene Cunningham, and 1 sister Wendy Starnes. Numerous nephews, nieces, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his William Cecil Sr. and Marcita Stork Cunningham, granddaughter Distney Faith Cunningham, and his grandparents Benjamin and Edith Hamilton, Morris and Minerva Holland Cunningham.
Visitation will be Monday December 12,2022 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at Eastside Assembly of God Church 7801 Hwy 90 Moss Point, MS 39562. The funeral will begin at 12:00 pm with Rev. Wendell Stork and Rev. Timothy Mains officiating. Burial will follow at Serene Gardens cemetery 12800 Hwy 613 Moss Point, MS 39562.
