William "Clay" "CJ" Joiner. Clay was granted his angel wings on July 3, 2016 at the age of 54. Clay was born on November 25, 1961 in Biloxi, Ms. Clay touched many lives with his beautiful smile and his great talent as a singer. Clay was preceded in death by his parents William "Bill" Joiner and Edna Creel. He is survived by his wife Karen Smith-Joiner, his son, Ryan Joiner (Kylee), daughter Miriah Joiner, step-son Jourdan Odem, Sister Martha Metz (Howard), nephews Waylon Metz and Josh Metz (Adellia), great nieces, Madison Metz and Zoie Metz, 3 grandchildren and his best friend David Haines along with his special friend, Robyn Smith; and a host of friends and extended family. Clay attended elementary and junior high in Ellisville and Ovett, Ms. He graduated high school at Ocean Springs High. He went on to Phillips College for electronic technician. He served 4 years in the United States Air Force. Clay was an electronic technician and an Estimator/Detailer by day and an awesome musician by night. He could play every instrument that he picked up. He was the lead singer in several local bands such as, Out of the Blue, Innerchanges and Exit 61. Clay's passion for music touched the lives of many people. Clay loved to play music for friends, fish, make jewelry, read and gardening. He had a green thumb that could make an artificial plant grow and he loved to grow a garden every year and share his vegetables with his friends and family. He was the best tomato grower; he would beat David every year. A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, July 10, 2016 at The D'Iberville Community Club 10452 Lamey Bridge Road D'Iberville, MS 39540. Visitation will begin at 12:00 noon and a Celebration of Clay's Life will follow at 2:00pm.
