Obituary

William (Bill) Edward Feidt passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, August 2, 2009, after a long fight with colon cancer. He grew up in Clearwater, FL, and has resided in Pascagoula, MS, since 1971. He is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Gail Marie, and his two sons, William Neil and Jon Arthur. He will be missed greatly and remembered for many things. For 40 years he was employed at Northrup Grumman Ship Systems in Facilities and Facilities Administration. Over the years, he had responsibility for capital plans, office space, offsite leases, and assisted in the development of the Long Range Strategic plan for the utilization of the Gulf Coast Facilities. As a soccer coach for over 30 years, he mentored hundreds of young men through both Singing River Soccer Club and Pascagoula High School. As one of the founders of Singing River Soccer Club, he served many roles within the organization including president. This year he celebrated his 20th Anniversary coaching the U-19 Flame. To his players he was a great teacher, mentor, coach, and friend. At both work and home, he was known for his generosity, humor, intelligence, kindness of spirit, and willingness to help any and all. He was a father figure to many, not just his family. He meant more to his family then words could ever describe. A visitation will be held on Thursday at Holder-Wells in Moss Point, MS from 6:00 to 9:00 pm with a service on Friday morning at 11:00 am in the funeral home chapel. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations are made to the William E Feidt Memorial Soccer Fund at Resurrection High School, 520 Watts Ave, Pascagoula, MS 39567. Arrangements with Holder-Wells Funeral Home, Moss Point, MS.
