William Gregory "Greg" Beyers also known as Slim, 56 of Helena, MS passed away at his home peacefully in his sleep. Greg was born on January 11, 1965. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Charlie and Audell Coon of Helena, MS, William "Bill" and Onedia Beyers of Tylertown, MS and his parents; William Theodore "Shorty" and Delores Mae Beyers of Helena, MS., his mother-in-law, Gloria Diane Harris of Lucedale, MS. He was survived by his wife of 37 years, Kayla Diane Harris Beyers of Helena, MS, daughters, Jessica Beyers of Helena, MS, and Hannah (Gary) Osborn of Bismarck, AR and son Joshua Harris Beyers. Father-in-Law Jerry Harris of Lucedale, sister-in-law, Eileen Harris of Gulf Shores, AL, brother-in-law Lonnie (Gina) Harris of Lucedale, MS, sister in law, Donna (Mylan) Mills of Lucedale, MS. His grandchildren, Emma, Brayden, Laney, Brantley, Gary Lynn, Olivia, Brittany, and Brody, and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and close family and friends. Greg grew up in the Helena community and was a long time member of Helena Baptist church. Greg enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and if anyone ever needed help, he was always willing to lend a hand. He loved hunting, fishing, coaching and playing baseball and softball. He also enjoyed camping, boat riding on Dog River. Greg, "Slim" was always making people laugh, and you knew he really liked you if he picked on you and gave you a nickname. The only problem with the nicknames he gave you, it stuck whether you liked it or not. All who knew him, knew he loved his Barq's Rootbeer. Greg loved being outdoors, and could not stay in one place long, he was always "running the roads." He did not go many places and meet a stranger. Greg will be missed by all those who knew and loved him.
There will be a private "final" viewing for his immediate family at Holder Wells Funeral Home 4007 Main Street Moss Point, MS 39563 on Thursday, April 1, 2021 from 2-3PM. Before his final preparations, there will be a public celebration of life on Friday, April 2, 2021 from 12-1 pm at Three Rivers Assembly of God in Hurley, MS.
