Obituary

Mr. William R. Jarrell, 100 years old, passed away on Wednesday, May 29, 2024, at his home in Moss Point, MS. He was born on February 13, 1924, in Forrest County, Mississippi, to Lawrence Jarrell and Lizzy Pulliam Jarrell.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Rosie Mae Jarrell, 2 daughters, Peggy Joyce Jarrell, and Patsy Jean Thibodeaux, 3 sons, Denny Lawrence "Bud" Jarrell, Billy Joe Loper, and Andy Loper, and one grandson, Jeremy Moore.

Mr. Jarrell was a loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was a U.S. Navy World War II veteran and loved woodworking. He spent many hours making beautiful wooden lawn furniture and gardening.

Survivors include his children, Rosie Carol Thomas, Anthony "Pete" Jarrell, Rhonda Kay Ray, Rickie (Charlene) Jarrell, Tommy Loper, and Chuck Loper. His grandchildren, Dara Hibbs, Dwayne Hopstein, Mike Hopstein, Debra Olsen, Steve Jarrell, Crystal Lovejoy, Sharron Parker, Dalton Jarrell (Alex), Alicia Moore, Tony Moore, Cassie Loper, and Andy Loper, Jr., along with numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Buddy Smith,the brother he never had. Special friends, Florence Cauley and Head of Veteran's Outreach, Holly Scanlon, Charles and Jeffrey Lee, Everett Sparks, and Mr. Brewer. A special thank you to the Vital Care Hospice team, Jathan "Big'un", and Tracy, the All-Pro Sitters, Naja "Little'un". Daughter-in-law, Patricia Jarrell, sons-in-law, Billy Ray, and Kevin (Carol) Thibodeaux.

The visitation and funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 1, 2024, from 11 a.m. until service time at 1:00 p.m. at Holder-Wells Main Street Funeral Home, 4007 Main St., Moss Point, Mississippi with Chaplain Bob Lytle officiating. The burial will be Monday, June 3, 2024, at 10 a.m. at Serene Memorial Gardens 12800 Hwy 613 Moss Point, MS 39562.

Serving as pallbearers are Billy Ray, Kevin Thibodeaux, Braydon Gregg, Jared Shephard, Jeffrey Lee, and Charles Lee. Honorary pallbearers are Buddy Smith, Hunter Ray, and Zachary Ray. Holder-Wells Funeral Home is honored to serve the Jarrell family.
