William "Joe" Taylor passed away in his home on December 24th, 2022, at the age of 76, with his loving wife by his side. He was born March 16th, 1946, in Pascagoula, MS. He was a lifelong resident of Jackson Co. In Joe's early years he owned a small mechanic shop and 23 1/2 hour wrecker service. Joe went on to be a construction combo pipe welder for over 40 years where he inspired many. Joe loved welding and the friends he made throughout his career. Joe had a gentle soul and loved to make people laugh. He was always the life of the party. After retiring at the age of 73 he started making bird houses and feeders. The details he put into those were astonishing. He took pride in each one he made.
Joe is preceded in death by his father Charles Taylor, mother Verna Taylor, brother Chester Breland and his wife Mazelle, brother Frank Breland Sr. and his wife Barbara, brother Harvey Breland, brother Arvis Taylor, brother-in-law Cleave Harrell, sister-in-law Audrey Taylor.
Joe has left to cherish his memory, his loving wife and best friend of 32 years, Rhonda Taylor, sons Doyle Taylor and John Paul Thornhill, daughter Donna Thornhill. His sister Virginia Harrell, brother Terry (Joyce) Breland, brother Alex Taylor, sister-in-law Betty Breland, mom in law (as Joe called her) Donna "Sally" Roberts, brother-in-law Kevin Roberts, sisters in law Laurie Roberts, Kathy Carnes and Sherry (Donna) Roberts. Grandchildren Marion Lewis Thornhill, Sara "Maggie" Lemely Great grandchildren Wyatt and Rachel Lemley. Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many great friends. Also, Special friends Tressa Busby, Tommy "Moo" McCollum and Pete Web, as well as his faithful K9 companion Keto
A celebration of Joe's life will be at the Community of Christ Church in Escatawpa on 1/7/2023 at 10am
