Mr. William Edward "Bill" Thompson II, passed away on Friday, November 24, 2023, at his home in Moss Point, Mississippi. He was born to Claude and Lillian Collier Thompson on September 19, 1954, in Mobile County, Alabama.
In his early years, he loved shrimping, crabbing, oystering, fishing, woodworking, and Alabama football. He had a lifelong career that he was very proud of at Ingalls Shipbuilding.
He leaves behind a large family that he loved spending time with, who loves him dearly and will continue to tell his stories for years to come.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Claude and Lillian Collier Thompson, one brother, Claude Matthew Thompson, Jr., two sisters, Lillian Thompson Brown, and June Clark Thompson. Also, to meet him in heaven his beloved sons, Michael "Mikey" Thompson, William "Bimbo" Thompson III, and Michael Lance Groves.
Left behind to cherish his memory are his children, Tommy (Denise) Thompson, Chris Thompson, Dale (Kellie) Thompson, and Candice Stevens. Numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren that he loved dearly.

Visitation will be held Thursday, November 30, 2023, from 11 a.m. until 12 p.m. at Holder-Wells Funeral Home 4007 Main St., Moss Point, MS 39563. The funeral service will begin at 12 p.m. from the funeral home chapel with Rev. Greg Clark officiating. Burial will be at Mobile Memorial Gardens, 6100 Three Notch Rd. Mobile, Al, 36619. Serving as pallbearers: Eddie Clark, Hayden Clark, Toby Nelson, Brayden Thompson, Michael (Man) Thompson, and Anthony Thompson. Honorary pallbearers are Ricky Poole and Randy Neal.
