Joseph Lucien Miller

Joseph "Joe" Lucien Miller was born September 21, 1947 in Little River, Alabama to Raymond and Sadie Miller. After moving to Mississippi, Joe married Catherine "Cathy" Vinson on June 1, 1968 in Moss Point, Mississippi. They had a loving marriage for almost forty-eight years. Joe and Cathy were blessed with three wonderful children, Joseph B. Miller (Marietta), Douglas R. Miller (Amber Rodriguez) and Connie R. Frye (James). He loved his six grandchildren, Alanna, Parker, Josh, Jacob, Micah and Ella. He was "PaPa Joe" to them. Mr. Miller is also survived by a brother, Murray Tyson (Libby) of Southaven; sister, Dot Woods of Atmore, Alabama; sisters-in-law, Nancy Tyson of Moss Point, Debbie Bennett (John), Audrey Sudduth (Darryl), Brenda Taylor (Martin), Linda Jordan (Tim); and numerous nieces; nephews; other relatives; and many friends. Joe loved boating, fishing, motorcycling, cooking and taking his grandchildren on trips. Aside from this, he is truly remembered as a caring, unselfish person who was ready, and did, help anyone in need. He was Baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses on March 3, 1974. He zealously continued to share his beliefs in the ministry right up to his death on May 28, 2016. One of Joe's favorite scriptures was Revelation 21:3-4 "God will wipe out every tear from their eyes and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away." and John 5:28,29 "Do not marvel at this because the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out. Those who did good things to a resurrection of life. We all have many happy memories of Joe that will warm our hearts for years to come. Thank you for being here to remember him and to comfort each other. Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 4, 2016 from 3:00 until 4:00pm at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witness 1507 11th Street Pascagoula, Mississippi 39567.
