Aileen D. Newman

Aileen Dale Newman, 86, of Pascagoula, MS, passed away on September 25th, 2017. Aileen was born in Pascagoula to Arthur and Mary Dismuke Dale on September 15th, 1931. She graduated from Pascagoula High School, Class of 1948 and started to pursue a career in nursing at Singing River Hospital and during that first summer, she met a student home from college that had been unlucky with an axe and a leg. As fate would have it, they later married and started their family. His name was Andrew J. Newman (A.J.) of Wade, MS. She worked as a bookeeper, after her children came along, she retired from Gulf City Fisheries as payroll supervisor in 1997, she also fulfilled a long time dream of opening a home daycare which for some years gave her comic relief with "her babies". She loved to play jokes , play bingo and video poker, work word puzzles with an ink pen, as she made "no mistakes", she crocheted, sewed clothes for her ungrateful teenage kids, she also loved cooking large meals for family and friends at holiday's. Aileen is preceded in death by her parents, Mary and Arthur Dale and sons infant Dorman O. Newman, Andrew J. Newman Jr., brothers & sisters, Lionel Dale, Donald Dale, Bernice Dale Thompson, Elsie Dale Gulley, Helen Dale Sellers and sister in law Mildred Newman Boutwell. Aileen is survived by her daughters Sandra Eisler, Angela Foster and Becky (Trent) Harris and son Owen Newman and brother Eugene (Gene) Dale, who has talked with his sister everyday for the past 5 years, "a brothers love is something to behold" and she will be missed dearly by her post Katrina son Gordon (Yvonne) Knox and sister in laws, Mary Sanders and Emily (Ed) Edmonds and lots of loving neices and nephews and long time devoted friends Don and Edna Haddock, 12 grandchildren: John, Bridgett, Brian and Brandon (Jemz) Creel, Andrew (Drew) Newman and Callie (Clinton) Simms, April Moffett Pouilot and Michael Foster, Denise (De) Newman and Alaina (Tony) Wallace, Caleb and Lauren Harrell. 15 great grandchildren with 1 more on the way and 3 great, great grandchildren : Visitation is from 10:00 am until 12:00 pm with service following at 12 pm September 29th , 2017 at Holder Wells Funeral Home in Moss Point, MS with Father Michael Kelleher of Sacred Heart Church and Pastor Don Edeker of New Horizons Ministries officiating. The burial will be at Machpelah Cemetery. Pallbearers will be grandsons Brandon Creel, Andrew Newman, Tyler Creel, Michael Foster, Avery Creel and Clinton Simms Holder-Wells Funeral Home, Moss Point, MS is in charge of arrangements.
