Mrs. Edith Hazel Price

Edith Hazel Hatcher Price died May 17, 2018. She was born on March 3, 1921 in Neshoba County, MS. She was 97 years old. Mrs. Price is preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, C. V. Price; her parents, John Cameron Hatcher and Naomie Alice "Omie" Roberson Hatcher; daughter, Alice Virginia (the late Ronald) Dunmire; son, John G. (Nancy) Price; brothers, Cleveland, Obie, and R. B. Hatcher; Sisters, Eva Hatcher Pierce and Hilda Hatcher Massey. After moving to Pascagoula in 1956, Mrs. Price worked at Morgan and Lindseys and Edwards Department Store. She was a long-time poll worker for the Pascagoula elections and a tireless volunteer for the Pascagoula Dixie Youth and Senior Baseball League which her husband, C.V. (also known as "Baseball Man") was the acting president. She enjoyed gardening and tending to her roses. Mrs. Price was a long time member of Spencer Memorial Baptist Church and also attended Lighthouse Baptist Church. Mrs. Price is survived by her daughters, Naomi (the late William) Warren and Mavis (Berry) Seal; and Daughter in law, Nancy Thompson Price; sister in law Sybil Nowell. Her grandchildren, Pauline (Michael) Brown, Thomas (Vickie) Cox, Tammy (Steve) Switzer, Paul (Samantha) Warren, Janice (David) Brantley, Penny (Farrell) White, Renee (David) Magee, James (Shannon) Warren, James (Jody) Seal, Neil (Amberly) Warren, and Matthew Price. Her great grandchildren, Caitlin and Anna Brown; Victoria and Jonathan Cox; Cameron and Hayden Switzer; Brianna (Cameron) Warren Lloyd, Will, Joshua, and Zachary Warren; Jessica Brantley; Katlyn (Spencer) White Green and Casey (Samantha) White; Davis and Haley Magee; James and Jonathan Warren; Owen and Anne Marie Seal; and George "the cocker spaniel" Warren. Her great great grandchildren, Aaliyah Ryan, Fallon and Wade White. She is also survived by her companion of 13 years, Bill Jowers and became close to his sons and daughter in laws, David and Cindy, Billy and Annette, Stephen and Marcie, and Neal Jowers and their families, and sister Eunice Anderson. Visitation will be Monday, May 21, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Holder-Wells Funeral Home, 4007 Main Street, Moss Point, MS. The service will follow in the funeral home chapel with burial at Serene Memorial Gardens in Escatawpa with the Revs. Jerry Reed and Billy Jowers officiating. Pallbearers will be grandsons Thomas Cox, Paul Warren, James Seal, Neil Warren, Matthew Price, and Vincent Jowers. Honorary pallbearers will be great grandsons, Cameron Switzer, Hayden Switzer, Jonathan Cox, Joshua Warren, Zachary Warren, Casey White, Davis Magee, and Owen Seal.
