Mary Alice Wilkerson

Mrs. Mary Alice Wilkerson, age 84 of Moss Point, passed away on November 24, 2010 at Singing River Hopsital. She was born in Neshoba County, MS on October 11, 1926. Mrs. Wilkerson was a beloved Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother. She loved her Lord God, her family and her church, Unity Baptist. She has covered many friends and babies with her quilts, that she sewed by hand. She loved sending each quilt to its new home. She was also known for the many delicious meals that she preapred and anyone was welcome to eat. Mrs. Wilkerson was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Wilkerson, Jr. She leaves behind to cherish her memory nine children, Barbara Dean (David) Cobb of Lucedale, Larry (Janie) Wilkerson of Helena, Paul (Michelle) Wilkerson of Biloxi, Patsy Fortenberry of Pascagoula, Betty (Randy) Hall of Meridian, Mary Ann (Freeman) Lightsey of Wade, David (Kerri) Wilkerson of Pascagoula, Cathy (Patrick) Goff of Moss Point, Connie (Ervin) Sawyer of Helena; sixteen grandchildren, Randall (Amy) Cobb of Hurley, Doug (Kathryn) Wilkerson of Tuscaloosa, Shane Wilkerson of Biloxi, Michelle Wilkerson of New Orleans, Tracy (Johnny) Spicer of Wade, Jason (Jennifer, J.J.) Hall of Meridian, Chirs (Michelle) Hall of Meridian, Eric Lightsey of Big Point, Christopher (Bethany) Lightsey of Agricola, Shay Wilkerson of Vancleave, Kellie (Mark) Belcher of Moss Point, Taylor Wilkerson of Pascagoula, Machelle (Brian) Goff, Matthew Goff, Daniel Goff, all of Moss Point, Jennifer (Daniel) Sawyer of Helena; as well as eighteen great grandchildren; two sisters, Catherine Jenkins of Madison, Faye (Steve) McMillian of Forrest; friends she dearly loved, Margaret Barnes, Maxine Mills, they drank coffee around 2:00 p.m. each day at Mom's. Also, friends, Hubert Cowart and the late Hilma Cowart. She appreciated her church family. Visitation will be Sunday, November 28th from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Holder-Wells Funeral Home in Moss Point. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 p.m. from the funeral home chapel with Rev. Ken Hembree officiating. Burial will follow at Jackson County Memorial Park in Pascagoula. Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Randall Cobb, Eric Lightsey, Christopher Lightsey, Jason Hall, Chris Hall, Doug Wilkerson with other grandsons serving as honorary pallbearers, Shane Wilkerson, Taylor Wilkerson, Shay Wilkerson, Daniel Goff and Matthew Goff.
