Raymond Joseph Delmas

Raymond Joseph Delmas, 92 passed from this life on Friday, May 7, 2010 at his home in Helena. He was born November 4, 1917 in Jackson County, Mississippi. Mr. Delmas was a United States Army veteran of World War II. He was retired after forty-three years of service from International Paper Company in Moss Point. Mr. Delmas was a fifty year member of First United Pentecostal Church of Moss Point and was a current member of First Pentecostal Church of Helena. He was an avid hunter, fisher and cattleman and was an excellent husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. He was preceded in death by his parents, Irving & Vivian Clark Delmas; his loving wife, Dorothy Virginia Delmas; son, Jeff Delmas; sisters, Marie Fairley, Agnes Hateley; and a granddaughter, Amanda Odom. Mr. Delmas is survived by daughters, Ramona Odom of Decatur, Alabama, Yolanda Morgan of Nashville, Tennessee, Grace Mills and Diane Gandy, both of Moss Point; sons, Mark Delmas of Madison, Alabama and Lamar Delmas of Helena; grandchildren, Lurynda Gainey, Joey Morgan, Wes Morgan, DeLana Rutherford, Datha Gainey, Gene Delmas, Kayla Delmas, Jerisha Vice, Dustin Delmas; great-grandchildren, Olivia Gainey, BreAnna Morgan, Lilly Morgan, Elizabeth Morgan, Malachai Morgan, Brent Gainey, Benjamin Gainey, Brooklyn Rutherford, Lyncoln Rutherford, Adrianna Delmas, Dylan Delmas, Ethan Vice, Bryce Vice, Tristan Vice; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Visitation will be Monday, May 10, 2010 from 6:00 until 9:00pm at Holder-Wells Funeral Home in Moss Point. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 11, 2010 at 10:00am from First Pentecostal Church of Helena with Rev. Timothy Mains officiating and speakers, Mark Delmas, Lamar Delmas, Joseph Morgan and Floyd Odom. Interment will follow at Serene Memorial Gardens in Escatawpa. Pallbearers will be, Gene Delmas, Dustin Delmas, Joey Morgan, Wes Morgan, Jereamy Vice, Randy Gainey, Myles Rutherford and David Gainey. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to First Pentecostal Church of Helena @ 5414 Kings Road Moss Point, Mississippi 39562.
