Ruth M. Aguilar Price

Ruth Aguilar Price 87,also known as “Tita” to all her family and friends who loved her, of Gautier, MS passed away May 1, 2015 in Gautier, MS. Mrs. Price was born on June 7, 1927 in Costa Rica but moved to Gautier in the early 1960’s and was a lifelong resident of Gautier.She proudly became a United States Citizen in 1984, she also retained her Costa Rican citizenship. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Pascagoula and a member of the Wesleyan Sunday School Class, she was also a Cursillista serving on staff many times. She was a member of the Ladies Elks Auxiliary BPOE Lodge #1120 of Pascagoula, MS. She was also on the Elks Bingo Committee where she attended her Bingo day on Thursday's. She loved playing cards, traveling and the New Orleans Saints. Her family was her life, she loved spending time cooking and entertaining for them and for her friends, the more the merrier. Her door was always open for everyone who wanted to come to visit. She spent her last eight months at Riverchase Personal Care Home in Gautier where she was loved by all. She is preceded in death by her first husband Juan Luis Aguilar, second husband Gerald A. Price, parents Antonio and Rafaela Hidalgo and her son- in- law Len Rushing. She is survived by her children Henry Aguilar (Becki), of Gautier, Anna (Terry Joe) Reynolds,of Gautier, Saray Aguilar Rushing of Pascagoula, James Aguilar of Gautier, Elizabeth (Wayne) Maxted of Gulfport. She will also be missed dearly by her grandchildren Michelle (Kenny) Hopel of New Orleans, Kristy (David) Long of Long Beach, Jay Aguilar,of Gautier, Jonathan Aguilar, New Orleans, Jason (Hallie) Bardwell of Mobile, Ashton Aguilar of Gautier, Claudia Bjork of Mobile, Christy (Matt) Elias of Long Beach and Christian Aguilar of Gautier, her great grandchildren Andrew Hopel, Ayden Bjork, Max Bardwell, Lucy Bardwell, Bentlee Pearson,and Blayne Johnson and dear life friend/sister Catherine Womack and all family and friends in Costa Rica. Visitation will be Monday May 4,2015 from 12:00pm to 2:00pm at Pascagoula First United Methodist Church. The funeral service will begin at 2:00pm from the church sanctuary with Rev. Jim Fisher officiating. Burial will follow at Machpelah cemetery in Pascagoula. Active pallbearers will be her grandsons David Long, Kenny Hopel, Matt Elias, Jay Aguilar,Jonathan Aguilar,Jason Bardwell, Christian Aguilar. Honorary pallbearers will be the Pascagoula Elks Bingo Committee. In lieu of flowers the family would like donations to be made to the Pascagoula First United Methodist Church. The family would like to thank her doctors and staff at Riverchase during her stay and Hospice of Light for their loving care.
