Mr. Stephen Clint Stringfellow

Stephen “Steve” Clint Stringfellow, formerly of Moss Point, MS passed away at his Trussville, AL home, Friday, May 20th just two days shy of his 89th birthday. Steve was born in Prichard, AL to Clint R. and Nancy Mabel Stringfellow. A graduate of Moss Point High School, Steve attended Ole Miss and USM where he earned two bachelor and two master degrees. Upon graduating from college, Steve served as a Captain in the Air Force before starting his own amusement business the “Fun Spot”. He was also an accomplished “sleight of hand” magician and hypnotist. Of all of his accomplishments, he was most proud of his 15 years spent as headmaster of Live Oak Academy. Below are his own words, taken from a class reunion speech he wrote: “…..what made Live Oak so special to me – your parents who sacrificed for you; the teachers because it wasn’t just a job; you, the students; and lastly and the most important, we were a family….. In closing, and this is from the bottom of my heart, thinking back - Live Oak was one - if not the greatest – part of my life. And I thank you for sharing it with me.” Steve was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Lundy Stringfellow, and dear friends, Chic Lindner and Aaron Versiga. He is survived by two daughters, Debra Stringfellow (Carl) Posey of Birmingham, AL and Dona Stringfellow (Curt) Gore of Atlanta, GA, one son, Stephen D. Stringfellow of Trussville, AL and dear friend Pat Hudson of Long Beach, MS. The family would like to extend their love and appreciation to Sandra Delatorre who took such wonderful, loving care of Steve over the past year. His children, Debi, Steve and Dona, invite you to attend a celebration of his life. Friday, May 27th from 6:00pm to 10:00pm at the Grand Magnolia Ballroom in Pascagoula. Casual dress. In lieu of flowers, please bring your favorite memory or story to share. The funeral procession will begin at 10:30 am Saturday, May 28th from Holder-Wells Funeral Home. Graveside service will begin at 11:00 am at Orange Grove cemetery in Moss Point. Rev. John Canning will officiate grave site service.
