Mrs. Susan Ellen McDonald Donohoe

Susan McDonald Donohoe, 58, of Pascagoula, passed away Friday, August 21, 2015. Susan was born October 25, 1956, in Detroit MI, the oldest of two children, born to James Willard and Maxine Stokes McDonald. She graduated from Moss Point High School in 1974. After graduation, she attended Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College. She worked for many years in automobile retail as an accountant for local General Motors and Ford dealerships until her retirement in 2009. On December 3, 1977 she married Augustine (Gus) Earl Donohoe of Pascagoula, MS. They were blessed with two children, their daughter, Wendy Nicole Donohoe Rankin, was born in 1979 in Pascagoula, MS. Their son, Augustine (Gustin) Earl Donohoe II, was born in 1985 in Pascagoula, MS. As a Christian, she was a lifetime member of Calvary Baptist Church in Pascagoula, MS. She was a member of Woodmen of the World Lodge 63 in Ocean Springs, MS and served on committees to help local food banks and youth programs. She was an accomplished piano and organ player along with having a gifted voice that enlightened all in the audience. During her life she enjoyed living in New Orleans, LA, Jacksonville Beach, FL, Boston, MA, and Pascagoula, MS. Cherishing her family vacations and outings, especially to Destin, FL, Perdido Key, FL, Orange Beach, AL, Las Vegas, NV, and Bahamas. She was also enthusiastic when it came to driving sport cars and her jet ski along the beautiful Gulf Coast. After retiring, she enjoyed homemaking, gardening, shopping, church trips, and especially playing with her grandchild. As a wife, mother, grandmother and friend, she was an inspiration and example of angelic encouragement, parental stability, faithfulness, and integrity. She is survived by her husband Augustine (Gus) Earl Donohoe Sr. of 38 years; a daughter Wendy Nicole Donohoe Rankin (Christopher "Scott" Rankin), and son Augustine Earl Donohoe II; one grandchild Austin James Rankin; her mother Maxine S. McDonald; sibling Amy Michelle McDonald Buckley (Jeffery "Todd" Buckley) of Pascagoula, MS. Also, many cousins, nieces, nephews and dear friends. Visitation will be Monday, August 24, 2015, from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Calvary Baptist Church, 2101 Market Street, Pascagoula, MS with the funeral service following at 7:30 p.m. Interment will conclude Tuesday, August 25, 2015, at 10 a.m. at Holder Wells Funeral Home, 4007 Main Street Moss Point, MS, and 11:00am at Machpelah Cemetery, 5112 Machpelah Street, Pascagoula, MS.
