Thomas Baria

On December 2, 2009 Heaven was blessed with the welcoming of Thomas J. Baria. Thomas, or to his family and close friends was called Tommy, left behind many memories and countless stories that will be cherished for many generations. Tommy is preceded in death by his loving and devoted wife of 57 years Aubrey Juanita (Nita) â??Grannyâ?? Baria, his parents Lamar and Lessie Baria, and brother J.L. Baria. Tommy had many friends who he loved and admired. He spent countless hours talking and visiting with his friends sharing stories of the old. He also had a family that loved him unconditionally. For many, Tommy was better known as Papa and PapaGranny. His grandchildren and great-grandchildren adored him and could not wait to visit him. Papa was famous for his bananas, candy, and whatever else Wal-Mart had on sale. He always thought of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Papa wanted to make sure â??those babiesâ?? had something to eat when they came to visit. Tommy is survived by his three daughters and sons-in-law; Ann and Joseâ?? Enriquez, Boots and Billy Brinkman, and Bettye and Gary Elkins; eleven grandchildren, Mary (Dennis) Kirkland, Jenny (Tony) Lynch, Michael Enriquez, Michelle (Chris) Goff, Billy Brinkman, David Finch, Tommy Brinkman, Howard Brinkman, Gabriel Enriquez, and Taylor Elkins; and fourteen great-grandchildren Jordan Goff, Joseph Butera, Levi Lynch, Elizabeth Ann Butera, Camryn Goff, Aaliyah Finch, Annelise Lynch, Noah Goff, Tristan Finch, Gage Goff, Gabriel and Michael Lynch, and Kaeleigh Enriquez. Tommy is also survived by two sister and brothers-in-law Helen and Floyd Raines and Hilda and Bill Saucier. He is leaves behind many, many nieces, nephews, and cousins. So much can be told about Papa, but to do so would take volumes of books. He leaves behind so many memories and stories that will forever be remembered. All that Papa was and did is instilled in all who loved him. A little of Papa is in each of us which will allow him to live forever among us. Visitation will be Thursday, December 3rd from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Holder-Wells Funeral Home in Moss Point, MS. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 4th from Hurley United Methodist Church with Rev. Ben Barlow officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to service time. Interment will follow in Coleman Cemetery.
