Ricky Willis

George Michael Wayne " Ricky" Willis, 55 passed from this life on Saturday January 1, 2011 at his home in Escatawpa. He was born August 17,1955 in Pascagoula. Mr. Willis was a pipefitter with Northrop-Grumman Ship Systems and a member of the Pipefitters Local No. 436. He was a member and Deacon of Escatawpa Baptist Church. He enjoyed golfing, fishing and hunting but he especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and family. His life was filled with intelligence and passion, coupled with warmth, wit and a genuine caring for people with an unparalleled love for family and friends. Some lights shine so bright they burn out before their time, and we all miss the glow, warmth and love that he provided to each and every one of us. We are blessed with many wonderful memories and will continue to keep him in ours. His legacy will continue in each of our hearts. He was preceded in death by his parents, Johnnie and Dorothy Ruth Rawls Willis; and a nephew Perry Eastman Willis; and a granddaughter, Hope Gregory. Mr. Willis is survived by his wife, Cindy Willis of Escatawpa; son, Michael Willis and wife Daphne of Vancleave; daughter, Alisha Robertson and husband Paul of Gautier; sister, Karen Pinter of Grand Bay, AL; brother, Johnny Willis of Pascagoula; grandchildren, Dixie Gregory, Madison Robertson and Laney Willis; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Visitation will be Monday, January 3, 2011 from 6:00 until 9:00 p.m. at Holder-Wells Funeral Home in Moss Point. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 4, 2011 from Escatawpa Baptist Church with Rev. Todd Bowen officiating. Interment will follow at Four Mile Creek Cemetery in Escatawpa. Serving as pallbearers will be the Deacons of Escatawpa Baptist Church. Honorary pallbearers will be brothers-in-law,Danny Smith, Bill Matthews and other deacons of the church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Family Life Center of Escatawpa Baptist Church. Arrangements by Holder-Wells Funeral Home, Moss Point, Mississippi.
