Betty Carolyn Watson

Betty Carolyn Irwin Watson, 89 of Moss Point was born April 12, 1927 in Dade City, Florida, to Frank Alexander Irwin and Alice Leone (Dewey). She joins the love of her life Floyd Raymond Watson. Mrs. Watson was preceded in death by her mother, Alice Leone (Dewey) Irwin; father, Frank Alexander Irwin; brothers Laddie Dewey Irwin, John Alexander Irwin; sisters, Florence Arnett Boilse and Alice Clare Smith, She is survived by a sister Celia Lutz of Dade City, Florida; son, Ramon (Ray) Karel Watson and wife Barbara of Wade; and daughter Celia Maxine Estis and husband, Talmadge of Slidell, Louisiana. Three grandchildren Philip Ramon Watson of Ocean Springs, Sharon Jill (Estis) Barringer of Clinton, Louisiana and Melissa Rene (Estis) Rasberry of Slidell, Louisiana; six great-grand children Madison Rae Estis, John Rasberry, Rebecca Rasberry, Jacob Rasberry, Carolyn Rasberry, and Kathryn Rasberry of Slidell, Louisiana. Betty was a member of Escatawpa Baptist Church where she served as church recorder, Sunday School teacher, sang in the choir and worked with Vacation Bible School, to mention a few of her many contributions. Her church family and friends will miss her duets with her husband Floyd singing by her side. Her favorite thing to do was to travel, especially to visit her family and children while visiting much of the USA and Europe. Reading and mind traveling to exciting places was a love of hers. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 22, 2017 at Holder Wells Funeral Home from 6:00 until 8:00pm. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 23, 2017 at Escatawpa Baptist Church in Escatawpa. Viewing will begin at 10:00am followed by the funeral service at 11:00 with Rev. Todd Bowen officiating. Serving as pallbearers will be nephews, David Cumbest, Chris Cumbest, Ricky McLeod, Billy McLeod, Brian McLeod, Roger Watson and Johnny Watson. Interment will follow at Serene Memorial Gardens in Escatawpa. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers that donations be made to Escatawpa Baptist Church or Gideon's International.
