John Wesley Anglin

Mr. John Wesley Anglin, 84 of Pascagoula, MS passed from this life on September 18, 2010 in Ocean Springs, MS. He was born May 26, 1926 in Pachuta, MS. Mr. Anglin was a United States Navy Veteran of World War II and a United States Army veteran of the Korean and Vietnam Wars. He worked as a Heavy Equipment Operator for many years with Whitehead and Miller Construction Companies. Through his work, he made many contributions to the progress of Jackson County. Mr. Anglin was a life member of the American Legion Post 160, where he was a member of Voiture 1411 40/8; F&AM Lodge 419 of Pascagoula; a 32 degree Mason and Joppa Shriner. A Life Member of VFW Post 3373 and BPOE Lodge 1120 of Pascagoula. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. Bruce Wesley and Mrs. Ada Lillian Mae Sullivan Anglin; his children, John W. Anglin, Jr., Mary Ann Anglin, and John Anglin; siblings, Mary Helen Anglin, Glennis Anglin and James Thomas Anglin; granddaughter, Skyla Demers and nephew, Freddie Michaels. Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Virginia Anglin; daughters and sons in law, Helen D. Garner of St. Martin, Marie E. and John Richards of Pascagoula, Johanna B. and Thomas Demers of Gautier, Virginia Denise and Timothy Gilliam of Pascagoula; sons and daughters in law, Bruce Alfred and Bobbie Anglin of Lucedale, Joseph M. Miller of Moss Point, Jonathan Wesley and Deirdre Anglin of Oakland, CA; brothers and sisters in law, Doyle Gene and June Anglin of Moss Point, Ralph and Tammy Anglin of Ohio, Sheila Diane and Carlis Sullivan of Gautier; sister in law, Irene Anglin of Sand Hill; 17 grandchildren, 5 great great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews other relatives and many friends. Visitation will be Wednesday, September 22, 2010 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Holder-Wells Funeral Home in Moss Point. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 23, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. from the chapel of Holder-Wells Funeral Home in Moss Point with Father Mike Kelleher officiating. Interment will follow at 1:30pm at Mobile National Cemetery with full military honors. Masonic rites will be given at graveside. Arrangements by Holder-Wells Funeral Home, Moss Point, MS.
