Mrs. Kathleen Abbott Moore Clark

Kathleen Abbott Moore Clark, age 85, went to be with the Lord on Friday, September 16, 2016, after a brief battle with cancer. Born on Smith Island, Maryland, to Walter and Sarah Abbott, Kathleen spent her childhood in the Northern Neck of Virginia. There, she met and married her first husband, James Calvin Moore. James’s work as a commercial fisherman brought them to Pascagoula, Mississippi, during the late 1960’s. Kathleen was a member of the Moss Point Garden Club, Griffin Street Baptist Church, and enjoyed playing duplicate bridge. She loved camping in the Smoky Mountains, cruises with James and their friends, and holidays with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. James predeceased Kathleen in 1990. After marrying her second husband, Alfred Clark, Kathleen moved to Agricola, where they were members of First Baptist Church, Lucedale. Alfred and Kathleen shared a love of animals, camping, and taking road trips. They also shared a devout faith in Jesus Christ. After Al’s death in 2015, Kathleen recently moved to Ocean Springs to be near her family. In addition to her parents and her husbands, Kathleen was preceded in death by three brothers; Earl Abbott, Walter Hubbard Abbott, and James Abbott; sisters Joyce Evans and Louise Gaines; and a granddaughter, Julia Elizabeth Moore. Kathleen’s survivors include her son, Calvin Moore and wife Terri; daughter, Cindy Johnson and her husband Chris; daughter Sherry Verbeke and her husband Richard, and son Alfred Clark. Grandchildren, James and Michelle Moore; Sarah and Jeffrey Brown; Patrick and Kaylee Johnson; Dustin Johnson, Summer and Matt Howell, and Cody Boatner, Great-Grandchildren; Evan and Drew Moore, Lakyn Brown, Kaine, Liam, and Mattilyn Howell, and Carson Boatner. Pallbearers will be David Wildman, James Moore, Jeffrey Brown, Matthew Hightower, Patrick Johnson, and Dustin Johnson. A Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 21, 2016, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Holder-Wells Funeral Home Moss Point, MS. A Funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM, in the funeral home Chapel with Reverend Hal Bates and Reverend John Henry officiating. Interment will follow at Serene Memorial Gardens.
