Mrs. Nina Christine Pinson Williams

Mrs. Nina Christine Pinson Williams, 95, passed away April 13, 2016 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born on December 4, 1920 in Philadelphia, MS to the late Harvey and Nila Boyd. She moved to Pascagoula, MS in the late 1930’s and since then has lived in the Jackson County area. She was a loving and devoted wife and mother of 9 children. She was fondly known as Chris most of her life, working tirelessly at numerous jobs in the Jackson County area, usually as a waitress. She was loved by all who knew her. She was a woman of character and always placed other’s needs above her own and would do whatever it took to provide for her children. She loved to cook, garden, work in her flower beds, and loved to wear her many hats. She was a member of Ridglea Heights Baptist Church, which she loved and attended regularly up until the last few years due to her health. She is preceded in death by her husband of 25 years, Andrew Stoddard Pinson and her late husband Harvey B. Williams., sons, Alva “Pinson” Bryan and Andrew Pinson, Jr.; daughters, Delinda Pinson and Cynthia Pinson Dahlgren; grandchildren; Riley Wayne Pinson and Dawn Marie Boland; brothers; Harvey Bourbon Boyd and James Curtis Boyd, sisters; Lois Tucker, Mildred Pierce, Clementine Warren and Connie Gomez. She is survived by her three sons, Wayne (Judy) Pinson, Evans, GA., Robert (Terri) Pinson, Hattiesburg, MS., Calvin Paul (Tammie) Pinson, Greer, SC., four daughters; Sandra Pinson (Michael) Maixner, Norwich, CT., Deborah Pinson (Richard) Huff, Moss Point, MS., Melissa Pinson (Algene) Germany, Dayton, TN., Barbara Lee Pinson Davis, Montgomery, AL., 32 Grandchildren, 56 Great Grandchildren and 18 Great-Great Grandchildren. Pallbearers and Honorary Pallbearers are her grandsons; Tommy, Chad and Sam Huff, Forrest Pinson, Donny Balzli, John Rhodes, Brandon, Adam and Jeffrey Germany, Billy Dahlgren, Michael Maixner ll, Andrew and Taylor Pinson and Dino Boland. A visitation will be held Saturday, April 16, 2016 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Ridglea Heights Baptist Church in Moss Point, MS. The funeral service will follow at 3:00 PM at Ridglea Heights Baptist Church in Moss Point, MS. Interment will immediately follow at Serene Memorial Gardens in Moss Point, MS with Brother Steve Cirlot and Mrs. Williams’ son-in-law, Dr. Michael Maixner officiating the service. The family would like to extend their grateful appreciation to Dr. Tom Stevens and Tonya Stevens of SR Health System, Dr. Higgs of Springhill Wound Care; care givers; Virginia Broadus of Total Health Care, Kasey Barlow with Camellia Home Health, and Denise McClelland and Stephanie Cothran for all their love and care shown during this difficult time.
