Raymond Donal "Don" Magallanes

Raymond Donal “Don” Magallanes, Jr., 61, of Pascagoula passed from this life on Wednesday, March 16, 2011. Don was born on August 2, 1949 in Biloxi, MS. Don, the founder and president of Fortress Mausoleum Company, was a man of extraordinary faith in God. He was a servant to others, known for his wholehearted giving and loving concern and received his greatest joy from reaching out to those in need. He had an innate gift for seeing the promising qualities in others and joyed in motivating and inspiring those around him. One of Don’s greatest dreams was to provide shelter for the homeless, a dream he acted upon frequently during his life. The loves of his life were God; his wife, children, and family; and Fortress Mausoleum Company. Don was associated with Church of His Presence (Daphne, AL), Bay of the Holy Spirit Revival (Mobile, AL), and Oasis Church (Pascagoula). He was preceded in death by his father, Raymond D. “Ray” Magallanes, Sr., his grandmother, Thelma “MeeMee” Gable Diaz, and an uncle George “Bubba” Diaz. Don is survived by his wife, Faith Forsman Magallanes of Pascagoula; his sons, Raymond D. Magallanes, III (Heather) of Wytheville, VA and Jordan T. Walters of Atlanta, GA; his stepchildren Lindsay F. Wilson of New Orleans, LA, Paul G. Wilson of Charlotte, NC, and Laura F. Wilson of Mobile, AL; his mother Bonnie Diaz Magallanes of Biloxi; his sisters Jill (Hardy) Jones and Terrie Miller, both of Biloxi; his grandchildren Heidi, Isabelle, and Luke Magallanes of Virginia; two nieces and two nephews; his “A-Team” at Fortress Mausoleum Company; and other relatives and friends from every place he had ever traveled. In honor of Don’s memory, donations may be sent to Shake the Nations Ministries which holds Gospel campaigns throughout the world and is building King’s Children Home in Kenya, East Africa. Visitation will be Sunday, March 20, 2011 from 2:00 until 4:00pm at Holder-Wells Funeral Home in Moss Point. Funeral services will be held at 4:00pm from the funeral home chapel with Reverend Hardy Jones, Don’s brother-in-law, officiating. Entombment will follow at Machpelah Cemetery in Pascagoula.
