Wylie M. "Buz" Hipp

Wylie M. "Buz" Hipp, 74 passed from this life on Monday, April 4, 2011 at his home in Vancleave. He was born December 21, 1936 in Gotebo, Oklahoma. Mr. Hipp was a veteran of the United States Army and was retired Superintendent of Test and Trials from Ingalls Shipbuilding in Pascagoula. He was Past Master of Ezell Lodge #426 F&AM of Vancleave, Past Worthy Patron of Vancleave Chapter #300 Order of The Eastern Star and was a York and Scottish Rite Shriner. Mr. Hipp was a member of the board of directors of the International Boer Goat Association, Chairman of the Judges and Breed Standards Committees, Co-Chair of the Ethics Committee and a member of the American Boer Goat Association. He was Past President of the Tri-State Rodeo Association, Past President of the Vancleave Dixie Youth Baseball Association and a former Dixie Youth baseball coach in Vancleave for many years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard & Reba Hipp; wife, Mary Katherine Hipp; and a sister, Carolyn Brown. Mr. Hipp is survived by his three children, Steven (Donna) Hipp of Vancleave, Michael (Roni) Hipp of Alva, Florida, Kristi (Brett) Mosley of Madison; brother, Bruce Hipp of Siloam Springs, Arkansas; sister, Sheila Evans of Bartlesville, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Colton Hipp, Anna Grace Hipp, Brayden Hipp, Cade Hipp, Parks Mosley; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Visitation will be Thursday, April 7, 2011 from 6:00 until 9:00pm at Holder-Wells Funeral Home in Moss Point. Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 8, 2011 at 10:00am at the Community of Christ Church in Vancleave with Elder JoAnn Lutes officiating. There will be a one hour visitation in the church prior to service time with an Order of the Eastern Star service held at 9:30am. Interment will follow at the Community of Christ Cemetery in Vancleave with Masonic Rites to be held at graveside. Pallbearers will be Darrel Brown, Ralph Borries, Gary Evans, Mark Evans, Colton Hipp, Billy Self, Buddy Steverson, Brett Mosley and Robin Lee. Ralph Morgan will serve as an honorary pallbearer. Arrangements by Holder-Wells Funeral Home, Moss Point, Mississippi.
